Regretfully with great sadness we learnt of the passing of Nick Pickering on April 21st

Nick was a member of the club for over 30 years. He was club captain twice, served on nearly all committees at some point and was club person of the year in 2015.

He was awarded Life membership in 2023. He will be deeply missed.

In February we learnt of the passing of a very popular member John Hendry who was a regular participant at Aggregates and was always good company.

The Green Team had performed lots of preparatory work through March. Through April the green sprung to life from its winter slumbers - lots of repair work to the surface, much cleaning and tidying of ditches and surrounds, precise remarking of rinks and frequent systematic cutting to arrive at a surface ready for bowling.

New scoreboards were purchased with sponsorship backing.

After much hand ringing the design of the new club shirts was resolved.

An initial order was placed for 52 shirts including Ladies and Men designs and in an array of different sizes. This order arrived in early March and fitting sessions were quickly organised to enable members to arrive at their exact size.

Following the fittings a further 52 shirts were ordered with members paying in advance for their individual choice.
